Milan enter Monday's match against Bologna after a 5-day training retreat, badly needing a victory after the rossoneri's latest defeat at the weekend to Torino. Coach Gennaro Gattuso tested a 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-1-2 formation during the week, but will remain with a 4-3-3 for the upcoming match. With Romagnoli suspended following a red card and Conti on the bench still recovering from a back injury, the rossoneri defense will be comprised of a central partership of Musacchio and Zapata, with Abate and Rodriguez out wide. Bakayoko, whose late arrival at training prompted the squad retreat, is out, and in midfield, Biglia comes in to partner Kessie and Paquetá. The attack will consist of Piatek flanked by Suso and Çalhanoglu, with Cutrone on the bench. Milan will look to stave off crisis and put themselves back in the win column, still on the hunt for a way into European competition next season.
Here is Milan's expected starting lineup:
4-3-3: Donnarumma; Abate, Musacchio, Zapata, Rodríguez; Kessie, Biglia, Paquetà; Suso, Piatek, Çalhanoglu.
