With the recent difficulties in signing Musacchio, Milan is making other plans to reinforce the defense. The Rossoneri are now targeting Lanus center back Gustavo Gomez, who is also being pursued by Fiorentina. Milan has contacted the Argentine club to see if there are the margins for a deal, they would like to acquire him on loan with an option to buy that could become forced if certain conditions like number of games played are met. The deal could be reached on the basis of $8 million in total for 100% of his rights.
Lanus had previously acquired 50% of his rights for 2 million, last week they acquired the other 50% for a total expenditure of $4 million. Lanus would now like to double what they invested in the defender born in '93, they're hoping Milan and Fiorentina enter into a bidding war after previously rejecting a 6 million offer from Besiktas. Gomez has an EU passport and he would like to play for Milan, but before deal is completed the clubs would have to agree to the terms.
