After a successful surgery, the rehabilitation phase is set to begin for Riccardo Montolivo. The midfielder for the Italian national team and Milan was operated on this morning at the Clinica La Madonnina di Milano to fix his ACL injury that he picked up during the Italy-Spain match. To announce that the operation was successful, Milan posted an official statement to their website, which also detailed recovery time:
"AC Milan announce that Riccardo Montolivo underwent successful surgery this morning to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Professor Herbert Schoenhuber, who performed the surgery, said he was pleased with how the surgery went. The probable recovery time is standard, between 5 and 6 months, unless complications arise."
