Having picked up five points in the past six games, the situation in the standings has started to make some people worried. Milan will be facing Sampdoria tomorrow with the objective of picking up all three points: Something Milan hasn’t done in a month. Ahead of the game, Montella will have to deal with the injuries of Bonaventura, De Sciglio, and Antonelli. Here is what he had to say:
“Sampdoria is an excellent side: They make organisation their strength. I expect a complicated match in which patience and perseverance will make the difference. Defensively we’re missing some players, Romagnoli may play as a full back, but so could Vangioni. Bonaventura? His growth was consistent, it’s a shame he got injured. As of Bacca, I can say say he is one of our most important players. We have to use his qualities more”.
To substitute Bonaventura, Ocampos and Deulofeu will have to show up: “They’re young, but have already attracted a lot of attention. They’re two of the best prospects in football, my job is to make them play at their best. Ocampos is more suited for long distance, Deulofeu is best in short bursts. They are both interesting players nonetheless”.
The transfer window closed on Tuesday, but Milan is waiting for Caceres: “We’re evaluating his physical conditions. For now, the only thing on my mind is the game tomorrow. If Martin is good physically, we already know what type of player he is”.
