Gonzalo Higuain will remain home while Milan face Empoli in a midweek clash. As Gennaro Gattuso explained at his press conference, Higuain has had a minor flexor problem for about two days. The manager also stated that they would evaluate the situation tomorrow, however, el Pipita did not take part in the trip to Empoli for precautionary reasons.
In his place, Patrick Cutrone and Fabio Borini will battle it out for the starting spot. Cutrone is also returning from a minor injury himself that he suffered during an U-21 game for Italy while Borini is in better form and could feature as a false nine.
