After a challenging start to the season, Inter have gotten back on track with three wins in a row. The nerazzurri will try to keep the momentum going when they face Cagliari tomorrow at San Siro, manager Luciano Spalletti discussed his team’s situation in the pre match press conference: “This is a week where we can get into the swing of things and catch up to the teams at the top of the standings if we do well. We are improving, if we are good we can truly see what our best performances look like. Obviously everything depends on the results. We must have the players at peak condition and use them because we have numerous matches close to one another. I think we are working well, although I don’t understand these moments where we break down like after Fiorentina scored or in second half against Torino”
Spalletti then addressed the status of some of his key players: “Lautaro has the chance to be the offensive terminal and to dialog on pitch with his teammates, he’s a good and tough player character wise. We’ll try to protect him, it’s possible we see him starting tomorrow. Nainggolan can do more, he must find the condition that he has yet to find because of an injury. Vrsaljko maybe out until the international break, he’s almost ready to start practicing on the pitch, so far he’s only been able to do gym work. We must evaluate him”
