After their impressive win against Sassuolo, Milan are looking to go on a winning streak when they face Olympiacos in the Europa League tomorrow. Manager Rino Gattuso attended the pre match press conference where he was asked about his team’s recent form: “We need to be consistent in terms of results. We are playing good football, we need to find the right mentality. We struggled in the first 25 minutes with Sassuolo. Our goal is to play compact. We always have to play as a team. Our direct rivals in Serie A are playing well but we only need to think about ourselves, focus on improving, find a winning mentality and learn how to suffer”
Gattuso was asked about his aspirations for the Europa League and his next opponent: “Our goal is to make it through to the knockout round before understanding how far we can get. We’ll see how are doing in February, now let’s just focus on qualifying for the next round. European matches are different, there’s more tactics in Italy. We must not underestimate Olympiacos. They’re very offensive, with very experienced players and play good football. They haven’t lost a match in 5 games in European competitions”
Gattuso addressed the status of some of his individual players: “We’ll make a few changes to the lineup, but not as many as we made against Dudelange. Mattia Caldara is injured and we hope to have him back after the international break. Higuain trained with the group today and we’ll see if he’s fit to play tomorrow”
