There's a crisis in Casa Milan. Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso spoke to the press after suffering yet another defeat, this one at the hands of Fiorentina with a score of 1-0.
"It's a complicated moment. But other than the result, I cannot blame anything on the team. We had little brilliance, but we're in emergency mode. Now we can only find solutions and remain lucid: we won't go and look out for what's to blame and what's not to blame. We need to come out of this negative moment."
There are many problems, one being a lack of goals. "We need to play better close to the net. We created a midfield, I think that we can surely develop the best way for us to play. We made a few errors in the open field, we need to pay attention. Montolivo not playing? He doesn't have minutes, I choose players based on this. If I go to judge a player, I need to like them to put them on the pitch. I think that, right now, there are other players ahead of him and I make choices based on this. But if we reduce the comments on the match to the fact that Riccardo didn't play, then we're not on the right path."
There's also room to discuss the transfer market and the rumor that Higuain is far from Milan and headed toward Chelsea. "I already responded yesterday. Gonzalo is a player for Milan that isn't going through a great time, just like the entire team. As long as he's at Milanello, he's an important player and we need to look for a way to take the best advantage of him. Is he happy? An attacker who isn't scoring is never happy, it's normal. But in general, I don't think that the entire team is happy, as we haven't been able to express ourselves the best. I don't want any excuses, we'll move forward, as the season is long."
