Milan looks to conclude a perfect week, which began last Sunday with a victory over Sassuolo and then a Europa League win against Olympiacos. Tomorrow, the rossoneri will take on Chievo, and manager Gennaro Gattuso spoke on the match during his press conference.
"Our goal for tomorrow is to take home the three points. It's an easy fixture on paper but tactically they are a good team and dangerous on set pieces. We can't afford to make too many mistakes. We need to think one match at a time. I'm concentrated on Chievo, I don't even know who we play next. We've shown that we have a lot of weak points that we need to correct. It takes time, so we must work to fix them with each game. We've left points on the pitch, so we must continue to improve," said the manager.
On Calhanoglu: "He needs to think less. He's a great talent who could score ten goals every season. He had a few chances in these past games. He's gone through hard times in his personal life. He needs to keep calm and things will get better."
On Cutrone: "It's not that I enjoy leaving Cutrone on the bench. I was worried when he picked up an injury. He's a game changer, has great enthusiasm and he's an important player for us. Cutrone needs to be proud he has been called up with the Azzurri. I surely am. Patrick's ankle is still bothering him. The medical staff will then decide if he's fit to play."
On the new Milan arrivals: "I'm happy. Castillejo did not play well against Olympiacos, but against Sassuolo he and Laxalt played well. Bakayoko can still give more. He has good qualities and it's all up to me and my staff to make him improve. It's not an issue with language, I need to put him in a position where he can give his best."
On the match against Olympiacos: "All games are different from one another. In Europa League we started well, then their goal crippled us. We did well to bounce back. This is the attitude I want to see and that we were missing. We can still improve on fouls, we need to play a cleaner game. We had the strength to react, and these are the things I want to see."
On the positive moments of Rodriguez: "He's a player in which, when difficult balls arrive, he makes it look easy. He comes away from pressure well. He could still push forward more, but I'm very happy with how he's playing. He's a player that can play in all phases of the game. He's gotten better on a defensive level, I'm happy. I'm happy with all of my players and I need to make selections based on their characteristics. I have a good roster and players that need to give everything."
On Ibrahimovic and rumors of his possible arrival: "I cannot speak on players that are not part of the roster. He's a leader, one that has great personality. If you're not strong with him, he destroys you. If the club decides to do something one day, we'll make a decision. Another attacker in January? There will be a chance to speak on these things in January. Now, we just have one goal: make as many points as possible. The objective needs to be this: today we aren't speaking about the market."
