It's the last week of the season in Serie A, and this means it's the last glimmer of hope for Milan to reach a Champions League place. They currently sit in fifth in the standings and will need to win against Spal and hope that either Inter or Atalanta drop points in their respective matches. Current director and former Milan great, Paolo Maldini, spoke to Dazn about the rossoneri: "Milan must return to being protagonists. Maybe it will take some time. The idea is to have our own stadium, maybe together with Inter but either way at the top level. Anyway, it's a longterm project."
The first thing that needs to be decided, is the managerial role for the club: "Me and Gattuso? You must have respect for the person in front of you, we are both here to make sure that things work: the views can be different, but our relationship helps to overcome contentious moments. I must evaluate his work realistically. We have different roles, we are no longer teammates."
Maldini closed with his relationship, both working and non-working, with Leonardo: "My title is one that can explain many things or even nothing. Leonardo has taken his position as director at 360 degrees, he is more than a sports director and asked me to accompany him on this journey. The definition of a role has little importance, what matters it that we are in charge of the sporting area. It is a beautiful challenge, full of emotion. My sporting life has always been tied to these colors, to this city, so it is a closing of a circle."
