With Milan forced to play in 9 men, Gerard Deulofeu proved to be the among the saviours. With an incredible play on the wing, he created an assist for Pasalic to score the deciding goal. Here is what the Spaniard had to say after the game:
“It was an incredible night. We knew that there were only 9 of us on the pitch, but despite the disadvantage, we never stopped believing in the victory. We are Milan, and we have to honour this jersey. I see a lot of talks about this team being in a crisis, but I don’t see anything of that sort. I’ve never won a game like this. I started playing on the left, then moved as the center forward: What mattered was getting the three points. The assist? I thought about giving the ball to Pasalic, I like doing the difficult things. Objectives? There’s no point in looking too far ahead. All I can say is that we have a ton of young lads: All we can do is get better”.
