Milan right-back Andrea Conti, two months after from the rupture of the cruciate ligament, explains to La Gazzetta dello Sport how he is coping with his injury: “I had a very tough first couple of weeks, I could do nothing but rest. A few days ago I could do some jogging but only for five minutes. I’ve always considered myself a strong person and before surgery I realized that is true. But I miss being on the pitch, when you’re 23 there’s nothing better than that. They say I could be back in March.”, says Conti.
The right-back also commented on Italy’s elimination from the World Cup: “I really thought we would have made it, but we have a lot of young and strong players to begin a new cycle”. Finally, he revealed that Milan weren’t the only club interested in him last summer: “Napoli, Chelsea and especially Inter had interest in me, but Milan wanted me more than any other team and I liked this new Rossoneri era, so I chose them. It will take some time but we will bounce back, definitely”.
