Atalanta has been looking for a defensive reinforcement and now they have found one that they are very familiar with. An agreement has been reached for the return of Mattia Caldara from Milan. The Italian defender played for the Bergamo based club already and played at such a high level that he was of interest to Juventus and Milan. Atalanta has been scoring at an icredible rate this season, 48 goals scored, but has also been giving up a lot of goals (25 in 18 games). This is why the believed they needed reinforcement.
The negotations have been closed with an agreement of an 18 month loan with an option to purchase. The player's agent, Giuseppe Riso, arrived in Milan to close the operation. It was a positive meeting that brought white smoke.
