After having received the good news of the quashing of the Europa League ban, Milan can now focus on the transfer market. The Rossoneri want to bring in an important reinforcement for the attack and a possible option could be Real Madrid's Benzema. Last Monday a meeting was held in Milan training center at Milanello between the forward's representatives and an intermediary of the deal Ludovic Fattizzo.
Also Gattuso and Mirabelli took part to the meeting and especially the coach has a central role in the deal, having already spoke directly with the Frenchman. Benzema already said 'yes' to a possible move to Milan as Milan would guarantee him the same wages he is earning at Real Madrid (9 million plus 3 in bonuses), considering that they will offer the player one more year on his current 3-year-deal.
The good relationship between Benzema and president Florentino Perez could allow a smooth departure, should the Frenchman directly ask the president to leave the Blancos. Real Madrid's asking price and Mirabelli's future will be also important factors for the deal. Should the current Milan directors leave, the situation could change, as new sporting directors could either decide to keep pursuing Benzema or shift the focus on some younger targets such as Morata.
