There is a domino effect happening in Europe when it comes to strikers.
Chelsea is making a move for Gonzalo Higuain. They've had their initial talks with Juventus, however, they have not spoken directly to the player's entourage, namely his brother and agent, Nicolas, who is still in Buenos Aires. This is a sign that the deal is not imminent, even because Chelsea is working towards selling players.
In that sense, Atletico Madrid has asked for Giroud and there has been a meeting in London for the French player. The offer is for a paid loan with a right to purchase, but not an obligation, which is what Chelsea would want.
Turning back to Atletico, does their pursuit of Giroud mean they are no longer interested in Nikola Kalinic?
Milan has not yet given a response. The club's ownership is currently deciding who will be leading their effort on the transfer market and therefore, who will hold talks to sell Kalinic to Atletico. The player by this time has already been promised to Diego Simeone's side.
