Inter's CEO Giuseppe Marotta touched upon the current Serie A fixtures chaos in an interview with Radio Rai: "The Lega Calcio asked permission to the Government to play behind closed doors last Monday, on Thursday they reveal the games that will be affected by this measure, then it's difficult to understand why they would take that back on Saturday. At the moment the regularity of the league is not being respected. We have not played in two weeks, same thing apllies for Sassuolo. Playing Juve-Inter on 9th March? We'll discuss it, it's an option that could meet the needs of both clubs, unlike what happened on Saturday, after they canceled the match, when it was decided to postpone the match until 13th May"
"However, we would play Juve-Inter before Inter-Sampdoria and, in this regard, I have to highlight how, should Inter go all the way in the cups, we would never have a date to play that fixture. It's a complicated situation, what I am trying to do it's in the best interest of my club", Marotta continued. "The main problem is that all these decisions are made from the top, and they don't take into consideration several factors that are crucial in football. Playing a game every three days in May is madness, the injury risk will be too high. Moreover, Liverani, Gattuso and Gasperini are right: people who run a team can not be left waiting until the day of the game or the day prior the game whether they will be allowed to play the match or not. We must find a solution, however I am confident that, if we cooperate for the league's best interest, we can find it together".
