Marchisio leaves Italy's retreat: Gagliardini & Izzo selected

Claudio Marchisio's return to the national team will have to be postponed. Ventura had selected the Juventus midfielder for Italy's two upcoming matches, but Marchisio left the retreat at Coverciano because of a muscular injury: in his place Atalanta midfielder Roberto Gagliardini was called up as well as Genoa defender Armando Izzo. Italy will play Liechtenstein and Germany during the international break
