Italy coach Roberto Mancini revealed his thoughts about the current situation in the country in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport: "People singing from the balconies it's the authentic side of Italy, they represent all of us. We always give our best during difficult times. The people would have deserved the Euros, as a way to bounce back. However, I'm expecting a great tournament next year, at a very high level. We will try to win a major tournament. I look forward to listening to the national anthem, it will be an amazing feeling".
"Probably we will be a bit rust in September - Mancini continued - however we will start again. I had already started planning for the Euros, I was hit by disappointment at first, then I stopped. As far as the Serie a is concerned, I think that it will continue and we will go back to normal. I believe that the players will be eager to go back on the pitch. Juventus are still the favourite to win it, but Lazio and Inter are still inthe race too. It will be a whole different story, so it is impossible to make predictions on what will happen. Cut the salaries of the players? There is no point in deciding that now, because I think that the league will continue. But the players will have to act in a responsible way according to the different scenarios".
