Simone Inzaghi is still thinking about the match against RB Salzburg last year which sealed Lazio's elimination from the Europa League: "I would like to replay that match". It is in the past, however, and it is useless to continue thinking about it.

The biancoceleste club will have the opportunity to redeem that bitter elimination tomorrow, when they make their debut in the competition against Cypriot club Apollon Limassol: "Last year, we had a great journey in the Europa League that ended poorly. Tomorrow we start fresh, it's the first match and we'll have to start in the best possible way - Inzaghi reiterated in a press conference - We definitely want to do well, we know it's important. I have strong players, tomorrow there will be some changes, everyone must be in good condition. Saturday, on the eve of the match against Empoli I only thought of them - nothing else. Tonight, I will think only of Apollon, knowing that a long cycle of matches awaits us".

A note on the change in the starting XI and the injured players: "[Riza] Durmisi will most likely start on the left flank - I still have two training sessions available however, and I will decide tomorrow. The injured players? [Valon] Berisha will take some more time, today he will have the first part of training with us, similar to yesterday. Luiz Felipe is is a similar condition: he is back on the field but will not be available for Genoa. For [Stefan] Radu, we await the outcome of his medical exams, I hope it is nothing serious."

Despite the two consecutive victories with Frosinone and Empoli, Inzaghi wants more from his side: "My team has played good games so far, but we have to become accustomed to big and important games. For this, we must try to improve ourselves continuously. Caceres? He has all my trust, I wanted him strongly. I am convinced that he is a strong player who can give us many solutions. Tomorrow, he will play from the beginning of the match."

"The important thing will be to win, even 1 to 0. The important thing is to work well, as you are doing so far. Apollon Limassol? They are an experienced team who have eliminated Basel. They were good, it is a team that should not be underestimated. We have to debut in the best way possible."

"Patric excluded from the UEFA Europa League list? I had to make choices and outside of it was him and Basta. Patric will definitely be back to play in the league," concluded Inzaghi.
