Lazio, Inzaghi: "There's regret because we played well, but we remained united."

Simone Inzaghi's Lazio squad escaped their match against Milan with a point thanks to Correa's 1-1 equalizer in stoppage time. The biancocelesti remain in fourth place in the standings with a total of 23 points. Inzaghi spoke with Sky Sport after the match.

"We wanted to win, but based on how the game went we'll take the tie. There is some regret because we played well, but football is like this: you allow a goal off a deflection and fall behind. We remained united and stayed in the match. I'm sorry for the guys because they worked hard during the week and played well. We knew what they expected, but we played well. We were unlucky when close to goal, so it's normal that there's some regret."

The tie came thanks to Inzaghi's changes, as Correa was subbed on for Luis Alberto. There was a surprising exit, however, for Milinkovic Savic. "The sub for Milinkovic Savic was needed because he had a yellow card. We had the game in hand, I was thinking we'd be able to win it eventually. He already had a card and I didn't want to compromise the game. I pulled him along with Luis Alberto, who I also thought about keeping as a mezzala, but I saved the squad from a possible expulsion."

On his quarrel with Banti: "I didn't understand the reason for the removal. Then they told me that I had come out from the technical area, it was right to have stepped back. I apologized to the referee, I was agitated because I wanted to take back the match."
