Maurizio Sarri has selected 20 players for the squad to face Atletico Madrid in the first group stage match in the Champions League. After an open-doors training session at Continassa, attended by Andrea Agnelli, the coach has decided to include Pjanic, who has recovered from a muscle injury suffered at Fiorentina. Among the missing players are Chiellini, De Sciglio and Douglas Costa, who is facing an absence of around two weeks. Emre Can and Mario Mandzukic were previously left off the list of eligible players.
