Juventus, Evra: ‘I’m not satisfied with our performances, we need time’

As it stands, Juventus has four points of a lead in both Serie A and Champions league on Roma and Lyon respectively. Despite this position, last nights performance at home against Lyon has left a lot of disapproval in the Juventus environment. Juventus is getting results, but the way they play isn’t spectacular. Patrice Evra spoke to Sky Sport about this conundrum:

‘I’m not saying that everything is going well and we’re performing spectacularly. I myself am unhappy with the way we’re performing, we can do ten times better. But we’ve only started three months ago, we need to get to know each other. There’s a lot of new signings and it isn’t easy. One thing is playing in any team, another is to play for Juventus. You have no margin for error here. You tie one game and it’s the end of the world, and if you lose, it’s almost like someone died’.

He continues: ‘What matters in the end is reaching our final goals, that is winning the league and Champions league. But like Allegri says, our fate isn’t decided today or tomorrow. I do agree that the way we play can be criticised though. It’s not true that all we say is ‘we won and that’s all that matters’, only to go back to training and just laugh about it. The truth is Allegri tells us what is working and what isn’t, we look at film and we try to improve. That being said, it isn’t easy. This is a brand new group of lads, full of talent, that still needs to build the right chemistry. You don’t do that in three months. Nonetheless I want people to judge us at the end, and if we don’t win they’ll just say ‘You’re a failure because you didn’t win anything’.
