Juventus is playing Dinamo Zagreb today in order to guarantee a first place finish. Gianluigi Buffon spoke to Fox Sports to speak about the Champions League: “Winning the Champions League is an objective every season for myself and the team. The people always ask me about this trophy because I have never won it, but my response is always the same. Every year I consider myself lucky for the mere fact that I am able to compete in this competition. During my career I have had many successes and won a lot of trophies; I would like to also win this one, but I do not feel as though I need it. Currently I do not know if my destiny is to win the Champions, but the only certainty is that we must work harder than ever before.”
Buffon also spoke about the excellent period that Antonio Conte is going through with Chelsea in the Premier League: “I am not surprised in the slightest that Chelsea is in first place. Conte is a winner and never fights for second place. I am certain that he is urging his players to always give their best. Chelsea have a great opportunity in the league, because they are not participating in any European competitions; this allows them to work freely during the week. It is a factor which can help them a lot throughout the season.”
