From hero, to villain, to hero again? After returning to Juventus from Milan, Leonardo Bonucci is trying the best to win the love of the bianconeri fans back. The Italian centre-back discussed the reasons behind his departure and his return in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.
"Stepping inside Juventus changing room felt weird. I was in a new place but it felt like I had never left. This stadium, this club and this city are my home. Leaving Juve was a tough decision that I took in a moment of anger. Some things happened on a personal level hurt my pride and I couldn't let them go. But with time I realised that leaving Juve was not the right choice - continues Bonucci - Juventus is like a family, this is the only place where I can express myself at the top level both on and off the pitch. The whistles from the supporters? I deserved them, just like I deserved the applause".
The defender also talked about his future and hi relationship with coach Allegri: "My dream is that to become the coach of a big club in the future, possibly Juventus. I would love that. Allegri? He is a clever person and this is one of the reasons why he can handle such an importan changing room like Juventus'. If we overcome our differences together? Yes, in football there can be some tense moments. It's because of the stress, of important games. It can happen to have arguments, but then you clear things up like adults, you shake hands and move forwrd towards the common goal".
Finally, Bonucci described the man in the spotight at Juventus: "Cristiano Ronaldo is an humble guy, he is a spur for everyon to do better. Having him in the team makes the dream of winning the Champions League more realistic".
