It certainly was not the best Juventus of the season, but the result was still the same: the bianconeri squad only knows how to win. They defeated a challenging Torino team, thanks to a goal from Ronaldo late in the match. Juventus manager Max Allegri spoke to the press after the win.
"It was a balanced match. In the second half they began falling apart and we grew. You could see that the goal was coming. We obtained a road victory on a difficult pitch. I must give compliments to the players who showed that maturity. Why no substitutions? In the first half we played little and the squad was feeling well, there wasn't the need to make changes. We were already in advantage. I'm happy because we defended well and didn't allow a goal."
"The first half went as I expected, they made us play a little, we had a chance for Ronaldo and some of the mezzali. In the second half everyone stepped their game up and we did well. If the attackers and midfielders work well like today or in Florence, it helps to have strong defenders like we do. Not allowing a goal is important, even when the others have the ball we need to wait. What will I say to the team to stimulate them? To avoid saying something wrong tomorrow and the day after, I'll leave them free. The true standings we'll see on December 29th. In this moment the players that play a little will need to make the difference. Opponents to avoid in Champions? They're all good, it'll be important to be in shape once March comes."
