With the Euro 2020 qualification games approaching and with Italy in a comfortable position as top of their group, coach Roberto Mancini discussed the most interesting prospect for the future of the Azzurri: "Next Italy's striker? Pinamonti, he is the future of the national team, he is improving. However we have to look at the present time, so the current starter will be one out of Belotti, Immobile, Quagliarella and Balotelli. I expect other players to break through before the Euros, but the base of the team is already done", Mancini said to Radio Deejay.
"Zaniolo and Chiesa are young players and they are not 100% mature yet, under many aspects. They need to play many games and have a long way to go. I think Zaniolo's best position, with his technique and physicality, is as midfielder. One thing is for sure, he is not a striker.", continued Mancini. "The midfield? We would need more physical player in that position, but we have plenty of options. We adapted to the players we had, however they are excellent player and we were lucky to find other some very technically skilled players".
