Inter, Spalletti: "With Champions League, I'll give myself a 10. Icardi? He doesn't love leaving without having left his mark in terms of team results"

Spalletti's first campaign at Inter has been like a rollercoaster so far. After an excellent first half of the season, where they were top of the table, the Nerazzurri have plunged in fifth place after a series of bad results. But their coach is still certain to have made the right choice accepting Inter job: "I would say even a bigger "yes" to Inter. - Spalletti says to Corriere dello Sport - During these seven months I had the opportunity to see how things work frome the inside and understand them better. I would give myself nine out of ten for the first part of the season, and a four for the second part, but for both parts I have given everything I had, every day. If we reach Champions League, I would give myself a ten. If we don't, I could grade myself only after having considered why we didn't reach it and which teams finished above us. Most of the difficulties are originated by these constant comparisons with previous campaigns, since they give the wrong idea that we can only wait for the storm to pass. Rafinha? He calls every teammate "fratello", brother. That's an example to follow. But he treats his teammates as brothers also when he passes them the ball, his quality can improve Inter. Why Icardi should stay? Because he looks better in a striped jersey rather than a solid color one like PSG, Manchester United and Real Madrid. Having known him, I believe that he is not one to change club without having left his mark in terms of team results".

Spalletti also commented on Totti and Azzurri situation: "I think that everyon is sickof hearing about this situation. Let's not talk about it anymore. I always worked for Roma's good and my conscience is clean. Italy? The right man for that job is Ancelotti".
