Along with new Inter manager Antonio Conte, club CEO Beppe Marotta also spoke with the press today. The former bianconero executive spoke on many topics, starting with how the club arrived at the former Chelsea manager to take over the bench. "We agreed together as a club that in this historic moment, there was a need for a manager like Antonio Conte. We didn't have a single doubt. It was our first and only choice. He's a winning profile and one of the best managers in the world. We know each other well. Having worked together already facilitated the discussions. Our working plan is very ambitious. We want to bring Inter back to winning."

On Icardi and Nainggolan: "We have the right to choose the protagonists of our project and the values of this project. It requires commitment, respect. A culture of work and a culture of winning, only like this will we be able to reach the objectives from the past. We decided together as a club and the new manager that Icardi and Nainggolan are not functional to our idea of a project. We made a big and courageous decision, surely to do the best for the club and without lacking respect for two professionals." Still on Icardi"If he must stay with us, we'll talk about it at the end of the market with the concerned person. Today we're optimistic that we'll be able to find the best solution for everyone. Icardi to Juventus? I exclude this because there are no conditions. The desire of the player makes the difference, but today we don't see Juve's shadow. The swap with Dybala is a Utopian swap. I know the qualities of Paulo, but from here it seems difficult to make the deal. But the market is still open."

On the market: "We are in the constriction phase. We're working to set up a competitive team. We must be attentive when constructing an ambitious team with respect to the economic-financial balance. It's a difficult market, it takes patience. We want to reach important goals. Barella? Every club has the right to put a price on their player. The buyer has the right to protect himself. Dzeko is a goal. The player expressed his appreciation for Inter. It's the same discussion as Barella's at the moment. Lukaku? We are working with Ausilio to form a competitive squad. We don't forget that the management needs to watch with respect to the balance of budgets and the economic-financial relationship. We're in a phase of construction. It's nice to quickly give Conte a complete squad, but notwithstanding the clear ideas, we aren't in a rush."
