After renewing his Inter contract until 2021 just yesterday, Mauro Icardi was interviewed by Sky Sport at the amusement park, Gardaland. He spent the day there with his family, and the Argentinian hitman seemed very happy to remain at Inter. Icardi made some important comparisons in the process, talking about his role models Totti, Zanetti and Maldini.
"I'm happy and excited to renew my contract," - the Inter captain said - "Nerazzurro for life? I can't promise that, because in football, you can never know what could happen next. Certainly my desire is to have a career like Javier Zanetti, Francesco Totti and Paolo Maldini."
Icardi's contract extension came after a summer where he was rumored to many other clubs: "It's true, this summer was a bit busy for me." - he concluded - "There was talk of lots of different things, but I have always remained calm. I was talking every day with my wife, and I knew exactly how things were going. Objectives for this season? We're a great team. If we put our minds to it, we can achieve each and every goal, Inter is not inferior to anyone."@GIANMARCalciO
