Inter, Conte: "Second place means nothing. Lautaro? The rumors are annoying."

Inter struggled to make their mark against Fiorentina today, as the game ended in a 0-0 draw. Since Inter only picked up one point, Juventus can cling their ninth consecutive scudetto with a win tomorrow against Udinese. Manager Antonio Conte spoke with the press after the match:

"I am satisfied of the players' performance, we deserved to win and at the end we risked losing it. Fiorentina played an organized match and defended well, they're bringing home a point. When you drop points it means that things are missing. We're trying to improve mentally, as well, because our goal is to compete to win something important. The players must know that they can and they must do more."

"Every match is a test for us. Sometimes we reap more than we sew, I believe that this team reaped less. Notwithstanding the Champions League qualification, the goal is to win. We cannot be happy with second place, for me it is meaningless. Lautaro? Sincerely I don't believe the rumors are distracting him. He's young and this is his first year as a key player. Clearly in the phase of growth there are positive and negative moments. The important thing is that he trains at the maximum and has respect for the staff and team. He does that. We are very happy with him. Talking about his future? That's annoying. The player is doing well at Inter."

On the market: "These are discussions that we push off until the end of the season. There's a season to finish and a Europa League to face head-on."
