As Inter were about to begin their match against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League, their director Beppe Marotta spoke about the state of the club off the pitch. He began by talking about Diego Godin's goal against Juventus, a player who has been linked with the nerazzurri recently: "Godin's goal? I am happy for him, we are in very advanced talks and it was a pleasure and a sign, but I won't add anything else. We are very far ahead and as soon as possible we could have an official announcement." These were his words which basically announced the imminent arrival of the Uruguayan defender, currently of Atletico Madrid.
Inevitably, he also touched on Mauro Icardi, who was absent from Inter's squad again in the Europa League fixture: "When will he return? We are waiting for him, I have nothing else to add to what has been repeated by the directors constantly. We are confident a return will happen soon, when he will recover from the knock to his knee."
