During the presentation of his autobiography in Milan, Mauro Icardi talked about his life, both on the pitch and outside of football. He started by talking about Juventus, seemingly his favorite opponent to score against: "What happens when I see bianconero? Nothing, but I'm very happy that I'm able to score against a team like Juventus, who have always been the team to beat in the last few years. Scoring in the Derby d'Italia is always emotional for me." On Mancini leaving Inter: "After many things were said, I talked with him one day and he told me that his time at Inter was finished. Those are things that happen in football, but it's never good to make changes on the fly. This year, our objective is the Champions League." On what he wants to express in his new book: "I want the people who buy this book to know Mauro Icardi off the field, because there are people who only see me on TV, and don't know my human side. I've always been a humble person. Thanks to my family and my parents who always wanted the best for me and my brothers. Today, I'm happy to have nice cars and earn money doing what I love." On his 2013 choice to represent Argentina over Italy: "When I was at Sampdoria, I was asked to play for Italy's U-21 team. I had some meetings, but I feel Argentinian. Today, they don't call me to the national team because we have stronger attackers. I'm only 23 and still have time to grow." He closed with a few memories about growing up at Barcelona: "A prison? You can't call it a prison, Barcelona taught me a lot of things about football, and about being a man. Because there, not only do goals count, but so does school. It was a little prison-like because they have to control lots of young kids and not everyone accepted this treatment. I didn't want to accept it either."
