The renewal for Argentine center back Gonzalo Rodriguez has been harder than expected for Fiorentina. The defenders agent spoke about this to Radio Blu while leaving the training grounds:
“There is no agreement on the renewal. Fiorentina hasn’t budged one bit from their previous offer, and thus aren’t acknowledging what Gonzalo has done for this club. To me, this was a surprise, and with these terms we won’t be renewing. We wanted to give Fiorentina priority, but at this point we’re obligated to speak with other clubs. Gonzalo would prefer to stay, he would gladly stay with these conditions. But Fiorentina doesn’t consider him important financially. A follow up meeting? It’s unlikely because I’m now returning to Argentina. The more time passes the likelier it is for other teams to make offers”.
