Genoa have reignited their interest in Arsenal's centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos. It looked like the deal had fallen through in the past few days, however now the Grifone have opened fresh talks with the player to try to persuade him to return to the club. The Greek defender has not said 'no' to a possible return as he has not made any decision about his future as of yet, despite being pursued by Betis and Olympiakos.
Genoa are also monitoring alternative options to the Greek and one of those could be cross-city rivals centre-back Omar Colley. The Rossoblu have held contacts with Sampdoria to understand if there is some room to negotiate a deal - potentially the first deal between the two clubs.
Finally, Genoa are also looking to bring in a new striker, with Atalanta's Lammers being an option. Atalanta, however, have asked Genoa to wait until January 27th before discussing an agreement, as La Dea will have many games to play in the coming days.
