Cesare Prandelli's adventure with Genoa started yesterday at the Pegli sporting center with the first training session before the first game at the Ferraris stadium against SPAL. He's given his first press conference as a rossoblù:
"I hope to be able to help this team get back on the right track, I'm convinced we'll all be united towards the same goal with the fans. I remember a game at Genoa's stadium with my Verona side, we were winning 2-0 and I told the boys the game wasn't over, the fans were still singing. It ended 2-2. The team has to understand what the fans expect and work for it".
"I've had other offers but waited, and after Preziosi's call on Thursday I've felt important emotions that told me it was time to return. What ambitions? First one is for tomorrow, we'll have to play a great game. Already changing things? It would be crazy to think about changing things after two days and I've told my players, we'll change a few things to try to get the group in a better shape. There are some difficulties, I hope everyone understands we're in a particular moment, the important thing is everyone is available: I already know some players, we had a lot of things to do yesterday. I only talked with the captain and Pandev, we know we are able to do important things".
"Genoa is an emotional team. How I feel about returning to the pitch? It's like riding a bike, the problem is you don't want to stop. Serie A has changed so much, as it's much more about the group the team has than tactical systems. Genoa's offensive unit is very interesting and I think it could do even more, all the taken goal are to analyze:if you're organized, you can avoid some errors. Everyone always hopes to find their great love and never break that relationship, when you work for such a historical team, you want to be there for a long time. There are a lot of youngsters that we'll make grow. How is the team physically wise? Reading the reports, it feels like they have are in a good condition. My son to be with me? He's a great professional and Bologna has made a great investment".
