From Milan and Lazio to Piatek and Cutrone: the words of Pippo Inzaghi

Pippo Inzaghi is currently out of work after being fired by Bologna earlier in the season. Now, the former manager has turned his attention to the Champions League fight between Milan and Lazio. Milan, the club that played an integral role in his very successful playing career, and Lazio, the team that is managed by his brother Simone Inzaghi. The former striker spoke at a Europa League Trophy Tour in Monza about the current battle: "My dream is to see both in the Champions League. The rossoneri and Gattuso should deserve it, my brother also deserved it even last year and now this season they have come back and tried again. It will be a game that, regardless of the result, will make me happy."

The Milan bench is currently led by Gennaro Gattuso, but Inzaghi had a one year stint on the bench that didn't end well: "Coaching is nice but also difficult. You are too reliant on results and the president you have. Coaching Milan in recent years hasn't been easy. We are used to seeing the club raise the Champions League, but there are cycles. These have been complicated years but the club will rise up again as it has always done."

Naturally, being that he was a great striker himself, he was asked about Milan's current striker in form, Piatek: "I knew the strength of Piatek, I noticed it against us. I like him in the penalty area, he knows how to move, when he shoots its difficult for him to make a mistake. It pleases me that Milan made an important signing like this. And Cutrone? You will not forget him, he's young: he is playing less, but I hope he can do well, I trained him in the youth ranks. I hope for him that he does his best and that he wears Milan's number 9 jersey. He shouldn't leave. There is nothing better than Milan."
