After completing Nainggolan's deal, Inter are on the market to bring in another reinforcement for Spalletti's midfield. One of the main targets of the Nerazzurri is another Belgian: Mousa Dembele. The midfielder, currently at Tottenham, have put Inter's offer on hold as he would rather wait until the end of the Chinese transfer window before making his decision.
Portuguese powerhouse William Carvalho is the main alternative to Dembele. Despite the fact that Carvalho will likely terminate his contract with Sporting CP, the Nerazzurri have opened talks with the Portuguese club. Inter want to be on the cautious side and avoid possible sanctions deriving from the unclear situation of the players who decided to terminate their contract with Sporting.
