After being released by Barcelona at the end of his contract, Thomas Vermaelen is set to start a new chapter of his career in Japan. The 34-year-old former Belgian international will in fact join Vissel Kobe in the J-League and rejoin his former Barça teammate Andres Iniesta.
The Belgian, who played also for Ajax, Arsenal and Roma, will join the likes of David Villa, Lukas Podolski and Sergi Samper at Vissel Kobe and will try to help the team to avoid relegation.
