Following his departure from Roma, there was a lot of momentum for Paulo Fonseca to become Tottenham's next manager, but the deal collapsed at the very end.
The Portuguese manager gave his side of the story in a recent interview with The Telegraph:"It was all set, we were preparing the pre season, but things changed when a new Managing Director arrived, we weren't in agreement on a few things and he preferred another manager"
That director was of course Fabio Paratici, Fonseca went on:"Spurs wanted an offensive minded manager and I have some principles. I want the right project and a club that believes in my ideas, in the way I play and this didn't happen with Paratici"
