Stefano Pioli is satisfied with his Fiorentina squad fighting to a 0-0 draw against Napoli.
"We tried to win without ever giving up. We need to improve upon the 8th place finish from last year. It was unthinkable to not concede opportunities to one of the best teams in the league, but I liked our behavior and the team's courage. Let's not forget that we're a young team. In the first half we didn't have much personality and passed backwards too many times."
"This year the league is difficult. There are strong teams fighting for Europa League with quality rosters and more money than we have. But we'll always try to play like today."
Pioli closed with his tactics on stopping Napoli: "Against a quality opponent, if we played with a central attacker then Koulibaly and Maksimovic would have came to play in our half of the pitch. I decided to play with two attackers so their defenders couldn't come up too far."
