With one match to go in the season, Fiorentina find themselves battling to avoid relegation- a situation none of their fans could have imagined at the start of the season. The Tuscan club’s manager Vincenzo Montella discussed the surreal situation in the pre match press conference to introduce showdown against Genoa:”Our season is at stake, we must defend Florence. We worked on our mind and perception, we examined what happened in last seven matches, because the football destiny penalized us. The team practices well, they even put in great performances, but incredible things happened”
Montella addressed his team’s mindset:”Tomorrow we must put a seal on the season, we can’t play as victims, we must go on the pitch with no fear, because we control our destiny.
