Roma, from Smalling to Mkhitaryan the latest on the club's loan players

Roma have many questions about their players on loan and the possibility to extend them. Chris Smalling, player belonging to Manchester United, is lacking an agreement from his club, but there is reasonable certainty he will finish the season with the giallorossi. The clubs must work on the option to buy Smalling when the season is over and provide for his inclusion in the Europa League. Henrikh Mkhitaryan meanwhile is set to mutually terminate his contract, expiring in 2021, with Arsenal on 31 August. Then he will sign with Roma on a free-agent contract for one year. Zappacosta and Kalinic are set to extend their respective loans until the season ends.
