Milan is set to take the field for the first time under new coach Stefano Pioli, facing Lecce on Sunday evening. In the morning training session the entire squad was present, as the coach deployed his initial tactical setup. Pioli will likely start the same 4-3-3 formation with one of the midfielders transforming into a trequartista, a job that is between Paquetà and Krunic, that will play as a 4-2-1-3. The other change comes with Calhanoglu moving back into a winger role, together with Rebic, Castillejo and Borini. Leao will play as central striker as alternative to Piatek, with both competing for playing time.
The starting lineup, as Calabria and Castillejo are suspended, and subject to further changes by Pioli, will likely be:
Milan (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Conti, Musacchio, Romagnoli, T. Hernandez; Kessié, Biglia, Paquetà; Suso, Piatek/Leao, Rebic/Calhanoglu.
