Zlatko Dalic, still at the helm of the Croatian national team, knows the importance of the match against Spain in League A, Group 4 of the UEFA Nations League. Currently last in the group with just 1 point, victory is required. A direct link between the two sides in represented by Luka Modric: the Real Madrid midfielder and star of Dalic's World Cup run this past summer. According to him, too often Modric is placed at the center of criticism when the Spanish club underperform. "It is always the foreigners fault. When Real loses a match, they always look for a guilty party between him, Kroos, and others who are not Spaniards. I spoke with Luka a few days ago, he knows that in football you can not always be the best, but he remains for me, the best player in the world". A look of respect, almost a signal for the award of the Golden Ball which is the great dream of Modric and Croatia as a whole; a dream that Dalic is doing everything to defend from the press attacks in Madrid towards the player.

Hard words against Real, the club who most represent the national team of Spain. "We know we have to take revenge - we need the 3 points," commented Dalic. Before him, is a new opponent in Luis Enrique, who changed the identity of Spain after their flop of Russia 2018, where his Croatia had proved superior. "Now they have less possession and are more vertical, they have brought some young players and Luis Enrique has brought his style, it will be a very difficult game, we will have the initiative and the strength to manage the ball."
