Pepe Reina spoke with Corriere dello Sport on coronavirus, a battle the whole world is facing together. The Aston Villa keeper had all the symptoms of the virus the past two weeks, but didn't have the possibility to be certain.
"Here in England they're only giving swabs to the very ill, but in my case there were no doubts. Virus. The body reacted well. The doctors of the Premier League gave me all the necessary information, other than the protocol to follow."
"I was isolated after having the first symptoms of the virus. Fever, dry cough, a headache that wouldn't go away, that feeling of exhaustion. The only fear was for 25 minutes I ran out of oxygen, as if the throat suddenly tightened and air wouldn't pass. The first six, eight days were spent closed in a room. I began to come out at night, when the kids and my in-laws were sleeping. I still keep a distance from them, they're not very young anymore."
