Sampdoria attacker Manolo Gabbiadini spoke with Sky Sport about his experience with the coronavirus and the symptoms he had in the past weeks.

"My illness was light, I had a fever for a day and a bad couch for five or six days. I was always at home, in daily contact with doctors. Now I've returned to negative, but, as routine, I need to wait another 24 hours to take the second swab and be certain that I beat the virus."

"This tragedy has hit me deeply, think I think it has for the rest of the world. I was at home and thinking about my parents that have been home for a month. I thought that it was right to do something, from the moment that us players have a lot of visibility."

"I received over 300 messages only on WhatsApp, it took me more than a week to respond to every one. Every message touched me, because it's a testimony of affection. Especially those from my former managers, who I don't hear from often."

"I have been training with continuity for two weeks. They send us the next-day's workout every night. I tried to train a bit the second week that I was in quarantine but I wasn't feeling in good shape, so I tried to avoid them."

"As a team we moved to give help to the San Martino di Genova hospital. I invite all Italians to do what they can to help hospitals, as they need a lot of help in this moment."
