Antonio Conte's new adventure at Inter has just started, but the former Chelsea coach seems already determined to bring back the club to its former glory in terms of winning trophies. In an interview with GQ, Conte revealed the motives behind his decision to join the Nerazzurri, despite his past as Juventus iconic player and coach.
"I need to work. I really do, it's something that is in my DNA. Marotta being here was definitely a factor in my choice of joining Inter. It is the proof of this club's serious ambition. Inter have not being competing for the Scudetto for 8 seasons now, I want to change that. President's Zhang determination impressed me. My past at Juventus? It is normal to work for other clubs when you are a coach. I look forward to bringing back Inter where they belong. The fans expect a lot from me, and rightfully so".
Finally, Conte discussed his ambition to start competing for important objectives right away: "I know that people have expectations on me because of the results I got and how quickly I achieved them. I can live with the fact that the chances of winning right away might be slim, but at least we must have the chance [to compete]. We can do it, we have no limits"
