After clinching a Champions League spot last weekend, Maurizio Sarri has now lead Chelsea to the Europa League final after eliminating Eintracht on penalty kicks at Stamford Bridge. Following the match the Blues manager spoke to Sky Sport:”They we’re dangerous, it was obvious that if we didn’t close the match in the first half it would have been a difficult match. On the bench we suffered, but a neutral fan I think had a good time”
Sarri gave an assessment of his first season in England:”Here they have a different culture under many aspects. What do I like? Playing often is something that gives me a nice adrenaline rush. English football is hard because the level is very high and they even evolved tactically because of Spanish, Italian and French managers”
Sarri described the difference in his strikers at Chelsea compared to Napoli:”They are different than those I coached in the past because they want the ball at their feet and they often go for a one on one. At this point it’s counter productive to change them. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to work on the defense as much as I would like. We shouldn’t have conceded tonight’s goal, we can avoid it with work”.
