Antonio Rudiger is eyeing wages of £225,000-a-week to extend his contract with Chelsea. Rudiger has an offer close to £200,000-a-week on his table from Chelsea and will make a decision after returning from the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.
It is believed the experienced defender wants wages at par with the top European centre-backs, which is in the region of £225,000-a-week. The German international has less than six-months remaining on his current contract, but his preference is to extend his contract at Chelsea. This has been his main priority since first discussions were held over his contract situation and has been demanding these wages ever since Chelsea's Champions League triumph.
There is optimism a deal can be reached between Chelsea and Rudiger, with positive talks continuing. The Blues have tabled a 4-year contract offer with an option to extend for a further year. The 28-year-old has interest from many clubs including Real Madrid, PSG, and Manchester United. Real Madrid and PSG have made offers, but have so far been lower than Rudiger's demands.
