Julian Nagelsmann is still one of the leading candidates to become Chelsea new first team Manager for season 2023-24. According to Sky Sports UK, the Blues co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley flew to Germany at the end of last week in order to hold direct face-to-face talks with the former Bayern Munich manager, who had been sacked last March.
At the same time, Chelsea lawyers are in discussions with their counterparts at Bayern, trying to understand how big of a compensation fee would the Blues pay, in case they decide to go for Nagelsmann.
Per Sky UK Anthony Barry, who is in Chelsea coaching staff and has been requested by his former boss, Tuchel, to be part of his system at Bayern, could play an important role in talks.
Alongside Nagelsmann, Chelsea are still exploring other possibilities, such as Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino and current Sporting boss, Ruben Amorim.
